FSR Code of Practice [Issue 2]

The Forensic Science Regulator's Code of Practice [Issue 2], is a set of quality standard requirements for forensic science activities in England and Wales. The Code of Practice was established under the Forensic Science Regulator Act 2021 and aims to ensure accurate and reliable scientific evidence is used in criminal investigations. The FSR Codes of Practice [Issue 2] of will came into force on the 2nd of October 2025, replacing the previous statutory version (Issue 1). The Code of Practice includes guidelines on various aspects of forensic science, such as methods validation, personnel competence, data control, information security etc. 

EX1 was informed on the 1st of October 2025 that their transition from The FSR Codes of Practice [Issue 1] to The FSR Codes of Practice [Issue 2] had been accessed by UKAS and that compliance had been demonstrated by the organisation. EX1's Schedule of Accreditation was subsequently on the UKAS website to reflect the transition: 20885Testing Single (ukas.com).
